Canadian based Godin Guitars has long been regarded as a leader in the realm of new guitar concepts. Continually evolving and innovating the art of guitar making and craftsmanship. Such is the case with the new Godin A-series semi-acoustic basses now with an added bonus for bass players….13-pin capabilities!

The Godin A-series is a favorite among players looking for plugged-in acoustic sound with an electric feel. The new A4 & A5 Synth Access basses add a new dimension to that concept, with Custom Godin electronics and a 13-pin output jack to access a multitude of 13-pin devices and computers via Midi. The synth ready feature of these basses is a definite bonus, but let’s not forget the incredible acoustic bass sounds available by simply plugging into the ¼” output jack. Tones ranging from jazz, country, rock and stand-up bass inspired sounds are possible. Also, controlling your tone is made easy with the Custom Godin pre-amp section voiced specifically for the A4 and A5 SA, with on-board sliders for treble, mid, bass, acoustic and synth volume as well as program up/down buttons to choose between your synth patches. Players such as bass artist Max Valentino love the exceptional playability of the A-series basses: “My new Fretless A5 SA is quickly becoming my instrument of choice. These basses are so tone-full, dynamically responsive and so down right fun to play it’s inspirational.”

Godin BassThe incredibly well balanced A4 and A5 SA are available in either a fretted or fretless model with 4 or 5 strings. Features include a rosewood fingerboard on the fretted model and an ebony fingerboard on the fretless model, both of which rest atop the renowned comfort of a Godin rock maple neck. Other features are a newly designed angled bridge that house the custom Godin saddle transducers, a solid spruce top and a silver leaf maple body with a two-chambered body design found in all Godin A-series models. This chambered design makes the instrument virtually feedback free in live and loud settings.
