Sacramento / Los Angeles, California, (3/1/2006) – Evermore Records, a new Southern California alternative-rock record label, will open its doors on March 1, 2006. Image

Waymon Boone, former singer/songwriter/guitarist of the band Splender, (Columbia Records) has joined forces with a new alternative rock band, Headrush (Sacramento, CA) and a Southern California entrepreneur to form this new artist-based alternative-rock record label.

On starting a label Boone stated, “Within a few weeks of parting from Splender, I had transplanted to Sacramento and started Headrush with a strong fire. Evermore Records became a natural\nevolution from my years of experience in the music business. I have so many fresh, untainted ideas on ways to market independent music. It is very exciting.”

Like so many other musicians today, Boone was frustrated with the way traditional records labels are ran. He stated, “My experiences with large labels have always been frustrating. Because they have so many acts, it is really easy to get lost in the mix and become a low priority. It is funny because so many\nbands think the act of signing with a major label is like finding the Holy Grail; once they have done it, everything will be taken care of and they will be successful. Unfortunately it is no longer that way. Bands must constantly lobby for themselves to be a priority to a larger label.”

Evermore Records has committed itself to the welfare of its artists and understands that the impact of even their smallest decisions funnel down to the artist, as all of the owners have in some way\nexperienced themselves. The label stands behind the notion that artists today have the ability to ask more from their labels, and therefore have made this concept one of their top competitive advantages."

I am moving to Sacramento from Los Angeles in November and am seeking employment in the music industry. I have been involved in music since I was sixteen years old and would like to make a career in this industry. If you have any employment opportunities or know of any in this field please contact me.

Thank you
