“This is a British band that lays its foundations in bedrock American funk. “Pioneers’’ is unambiguously accurate, though: The New Mastersounds have been plying their trade since the early days of the ongoing funk and soul revival."Boston Herald

New Mastersounds“They did it again, they never seem to fail, they’ve got to be one of the tightest bands in the business right now.  The New Mastersounds always seem to deliver with flawless precision” - Listen Up Denver

The New Mastersounds spent the 4th of July weekend playing shows with Widespread Panic in Wyoming, and Umphrey's McGhee at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater. The band will continue through out the summer doing festivals and club dates.

As a band, and as individuals, NMS have collaborated and jammed with an impressive array of musicians DJs and producers, including: Lou Donaldson (Blue Note), Corinne Bailey Rae (EMI), Quantic (Tru Thoughts), Carleen Anderson (Young Disciples / Brand New Heavies), Keb Darge & Kenny Dope (Kay Dee Records), John Arnold (Ubiquity), Mr Scruff (Ninja Tune), Snowboy (Ubiquity), Fred Everything (2020vision), Andy Smith (Portishead), James Taylor (JTQ), LSK (Faithless), Lack of Afro (Freestyle), Page McConnell (Phish), Karl Denson (Lenny Kravitz / Greyboy AllStars), Melvin Sparks (Blue Note Records), George Porter Jr (The Meters), Fred Wesley, Maceo Parker (JB's), and Art Neville (Neville Brothers, The Meters).

The New Mastersounds funk powerhouse includes Eddie Roberts (guitar), Simon Allen (drums), Peter Shand (bass) and Joe Tatton (keys).  The band received their first large stamp approval  when their 2001 track “Turn this Around” was placed in the personal, top ten tunes of all time by Peter Wermelinger - DJ ( collector, and author of the crate-diggers' bible The Funky & Groovy Music Lexicon) . This list found the band in the company of artists like Eddie Harris, Funkadelic, and Herbie Hancock, placing  The New Mastersounds a very elite and selective group of acts that bring the true soul out of funk.

The first track "Can You Get It" is featured as the Morning Download on WXPN, where is can be downloaded for Free.

UK Soulsters the New Mastersounds will be releasing their seventh studio album and first album ever recorded on U.S. soil  "Breaks from the Border" August 9th on Tallest Man Records. This album ushers in a new era in the bands sonic landscape, by topping their unique syncopated grooves with group vocal stylings. Instead of heading back to their home town of Leeds to record, the band took a detour to tiny border town of Tornillo Texas to record at Sonic Ranch Studios. The triple digit dry heat, and scenic studio setting, in the middle of a large pecan farm, provided sonic and lyrical inspiration for the album, cleverly titled for the setting in which is was recorded.
