Deny Me
THE SONG
This song really satisfies. It is really great pop/rock tunage. The layers in the recording are great to listen to as the song builds in the end. Very memorable hook and melody.

In 1995 local musicians Jesse Dylan Verleye, Shawn Beaulieu, Charles Young, Mat Drew and Jay Moskaluk joined forces to record the great debut CD Foster Child. The CD was a tremendous success after it's 1996 release and Foster Child was building a name for themselves as a hard working, energetic live act.
In the summer of 1996, came a new experience of playing outdoor festivals. Foster Child played "Corstock" with an estimated 8000+ people in attendance, and also played the "KOA", displaying their energy for another 2000 music lovers. The band also enjoyed other on stage performances with "the Doughboys" and "Jeff Martin" (juno award winner with his band "Tea Party" ).
Things were going great...or so they thought.
Shortly after the band's 1996 CD release they were forced to change their name. Apparenlty a major label act had already beaten them to the Foster child moniker.
The band decided on a new name...the Janet Theory. At this time the band also saw a change in its line up. Mat Drew had decided to leave the band to pursue other interests and after many scheduling conflicts with Jay Moskaluk's other band "Whatever", the Janet Theory was now a trio.
More determined than ever the power-pop threesome headed straight into the studio to record what became their full length debut "Shoot Me Down". The CD sold fairly well, but it was quickly realized that it would be a while until the Janet Theory would step out of the shadows of their predecessor Foster Child. After the 1999 release of "Shoot Me Down" the Janet Theory have been building a solid fan base that continues to grow.
The new millennium has also seen the Janet Theory come full circle, they were feeling as though their live performances were not all that they could be...and they toyed with the idea of hiring a front man. This would let Shawn Beaulieu and Jesse Dylan Verleye concentrate on their instruments and no longer feel as though they were tied to their microphone stands.
After auditioning many talented musicians, the Janet Theory realized that the chemistry just wasn't there. Knowing that Mat Drew had always been an asset, and worked well with Foster Child, they offered him this new position, which he accepted. February 2000 saw their first practises as a four-piece group. With many new songs written, the Janet Theory is more focused than ever before, beginning to form it's own distinct sound, a sound that is sure to make people sit up and pay attention. The Janet Theory is sure to become a staple in the local independent scene...with hopes of reaching that next level!!!
