MP3 Song
Open Book
THE SONG
A cool, hip and poppy song. The band is a cross between the musicality of The Wallflowers and the singing style of Marcy Playground.
THE CD
This band has real talent. The singing is the highlight of the disc but all parts are aptly played. The mix is excellent and the production isn't over or under done. Soul permeates this disc.

The Fountains is a folk/rock band based in Athens, Georgia, and founded by Jeff and Gary Andrews (twins, nontheless). Blending rock and folk with a dash of country, punk, and blues, and wrapping it all up with incredible songwriting, Jeff and Gary have a sound quite unlike anything I've heard. Their influences range from Woodie Guthrie and Bob Dylan to Violent Femmes to Bruce Springstein, but no matter what they play, they always manage to add their own style and make the song their own. The Fountains released their first CD, "Welcome," in May of 1994, their second, "Stamp," in July of 1995, and their third, "Ideal Amusement," in November of 1997. They have also been featured in several compilations, including "Parts," by Ghostmeat Records.
