MP3 Song
Everyday

THE SONG
Just plain cool blues rock. A fun tune to listen to. Great guitars and vocals.

THE CD
This cd is chock full of very catchy and entertaining blues rock. The vocalist has a great feel for the tunes and blends with the guitar work very well.

PuddleDuck is a five piece band based out of Richmond, VA. From its humble beginnings at JM's in Harrisonburg, VA, PuddleDuck has expanded its touring range from as far north as New York to as far south as South Carolina. PuddleDuck's mailing list is nearly 1600 people strong, and with the aid of constant touring and World Wide Web promotion, it continues to grow rapidly. The fusion of new musicians with the existing creative and innovative song writing style has resulted in a newly energized sound for PuddleDuck.

The name PuddleDuck was first coined when they were attempting to book their first gig at JM's in Harrisonburg. The owner asked the band, as any thinking being would, "well, what do you call yourself?" Being the seasoned professionals that they were at the time, they replied with "uhh, we'll call you right back" and went on a search for an answer to this reasonable yet perplexing question.

Leafing through a dictionary, they happened across the term (that's right, you guessed it!) puddle duck which means:one who dabbles.

PuddleDuck completed recording their second full length CD 'Fly' early in October. The disk is available up and down the east coast.

The five members of PuddleDuck come from very different musical backgrounds and therefore have a variety of different influences. Probably the easiest influence to hear is that of The Allman Brothers Band. PuddleDuck 's guitar harmonies and dueling solos will quickly bring to mind, if not capture, some of the fire heard in the Allman's music. Their influences, however, are not limited to the southern blues/rock sound. There are bits of Jimi Hendrix, The Mahavishnu Orchestra, and The Grateful Dead in what we do. You may even sense a bit of Van Halen on occasion if you're listening closely. This combination of influences, along with a mutual love for a good groove, has allowed PuddleDuck to create fresh and innovative music while still maintaining a cohesive sound.
