Paul Topete is a poker dealer who never sits with his back to the door. As the joker who leads Poker Face through the band's second release, NEXT!, he shuffles a double deck of alternative, modern and album oriented tracks to fuse a wide spectrum of musical ground and passes out each hand as a fistful of aces.
Paul started Poker Face eight years ago in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Poker Face's 1993 release, Game of Love was a regional success in the Lehigh Valley area of Eastern Pennsylvania.
Topete wrote and arranged virtually all of the music on NEXT! and wrote most of the lyrics on the album, some with co-writing contributed by V.B. Wolfe, lyricist of two of 1985's smash hits: Foreigner's I Want to Know what Love is, and REO Speedwagon's Can't Fight this Feeling.
