MP3 Song
Lisa's Shirt

THE SONG
A fun and funny song about Lisa's flannel shirt. The playing is apt and the song even has a chourus of off-time singers at the end that adds to this jovial tune!

THE CD
14 cool pop/rock acoustic tunes. The band is solid and fun. The disc is full of energetic vocals with some really nice melodies. You would have a blast with these guys in a club!

Mr. Opporknockity, a 5 piece acoustic rock outfit from Springfield, IL., has been touring the Eastern U.S. for the past two and a half years. Originally, Mr. O was an acoustic duo formed by Troy Roark and Doug Gholson. They immediately went into the studio and cut a 5 song EP titled "B.Y.O.D." (Bring Your Own Door.) It was very successful, with over 1000 copies sold in a few months and two songs seeing considerable airplay. One of those songs, Lisa's Shirt, still gets many requests on top 40 stations throughout the Midwest.

During the success of B.Y.O.D., Doug and Troy did some small tours and showcased at The 1997 Chicago New Music Festival. Shortly after, Troy and Doug decided to put together a full band for a few shows. That band is still in tact today. Drummer, Mark Sanders and Bassist, Tom Irwin rounded out an extremely solid group.

After four months of intense touring, the band went back into the studio to record their first full length CD, "A Discouraging Word." Fourteen tracks long, this CD sold three times as fast as B.Y.O.D. with radio support from four more songs. Most recently "Mr. O Theme Song" was included on a trade compilation released to 1200 radio stations worldwide.

Since the second recording, Mr. O has toured all over the Midwest, headlined at many music festivals and opened for bands like Brother Cane, Caroline Spine, and most recently, Blessed Union of Souls.

Most recently, the band added a fifth member in Chris Camp. With the addition of Chris' many instruments (including washboard, accordion, harmonica and vocals), Mr. O is definitely in their prime.
