MP3 Song
I Need Your Love

THE SONG
A hoppy forthright song with just the right touch of emotion. Great guitar tone. There's even a spot that might remind one of Edie Brickell. A great single.

THE CD
For being 20 years old, Christin is definitely ahead of the game. There's a maturity to her songwriting that cannot be denied. Her voice is strong and unique. From rockers to ballads Christin is the total package.

Even before she could speak, Christin Cook was singing her own song.

Growing up in a recording studio environment, Christin actually cut her first tooth on the reverb knob of the sound equipment.
As Christin grew, it became evident that the reverb knob was not the only thing she wanted to sink her teeth into. She developed
not only a great desire to sing, play and write music, but to create a message that would impact her generation.

Christin’s passion for music has been fueled by a first-born, relentless, head strong determination. She pushed through the age of rejection, not to be swayed. “I learned the hard way that you can’t place your own self-worth in the hands of other people. You have to live what you believe with a contagious confidence,” says Christin. She continued to take lessons in music, dance, voice and acting and started her first band at the age of twelve.

Driven to begin her life long career in full time music, Christin pushed the limits and finished high school at the age of sixteen. Still focused, she dedicated herself to studying music at Houston Community College, under a full ride scholarship for two years. Despite Christin’s intense schedule of balancing college and a part time music career, she maintained a Deans List status. As soon as finals were through, at the ripe age of eighteen, Christin and her band began traveling the country full time performing her music, in an effort to build relationships that would create her wide spread grass roots following.

Her Debut, full length CD, Live Loud :: Scream Worship, released May 2001 was done on a tight budget and was designed for church youth. Without any distribution, she sold 2000 copies the first year, primarily to concert goers. "We are independent...we book our own shows, drive a car with a trailer that we load and unload ourselves. It's not an easy thing, but there's nothing else I'd rather do," Christin shares. Traveling and leading the band to more than 200 paid dates a year was grueling and required much maturing for this amazing young artist.

Now 20 years old, she has just finished her sophomore release, For The Love. Light years from her last project, For the Love, produced by Paul Moak, Nashville, covers the gamut of great, hard hitting, catchy pop/rock to an amazing jazz ballad. Even before the street date of July 23rd, 2002, it was picked up for several compilation CD’s including Guitar Girls, out of Los Angeles, CA. The first release for a compilation went to #11 on MP3 the first week out. Her critically acclaimed songwriting is passionate, transparent and musically excellent. Her heartfelt lyrics intertwined with the music and her stunning vocals make this CD rise to the top. In fact, it was picked up by TNT's Witchblade for their Fall season.

This year, she appeared on The Ananda Lewis Show, made the cover story for a regional magazine, and was interviewed alongside major label girls in the Washington Times. If that is not enough, she is also saving her first kiss for her wedding day. Yeah, a beautiful 20 year old that has never even been kissed! Even though she considers herself relationship challenged, she is just like the rest of us in dealing with relationships and love. "There is an innocent wisdom about her," says road manager, Karen, "Even though she hasn’t been through much of what the rest of us have, she writes how she feels, making herself transparent and vulnerable. It’s the way we all feel about relationships but would never admit it."

She is the real deal; a guitar & piano playing, singer/songwriter who opens her life to the world through her music.
