ALICE After extensive touring for two years in Rock and Pop venues across southern Ontario, ALICE has submerged themselves in the studio to record their first CD . Hopeful bar patrons and inquisitive fans have asked "When will the CD be ready?" "Soon," has been the reply. Not willing to rush the process or the product, the band has tweaked and rocked through 10 original tracks recorded in Toronto between January and August of 1998. And here it is, the debut release by ALICE: "SOON." Within these 10 songs are the themes of the band's lives: loves lost and yearned for, and what the band calls "the Hour-glass Syndrome." The title track, "ALICE" is an honest questioning of how women see themselves in a "fashion-model-as-role-model" society. Careful attention to lyrics and melody is wonderfully supported by lush guitars and B3 organs. Penned by Vince De Piante, Melanie Kovatch and the band, "SOON" is a stunning first release. Production and detailing creatively provided by Doug Romanow. The band played the Southern Ontario Country/Pop/Rock circuit for the past three years. In late 1997, they decided to take a year off and record their first album "SOON".
Group members:
